My Philosophy
-
Belong
As a teacher, I believe in making any learning environment a welcoming place where everyone can come as they are and leave as who they want to be. I believe that learning to play the bassoon should be accessible to all who are interested in playing the instrument and learning more about it.
-
Learn
As an instructor, I believe in creating a positive and encouraging space where students can achieve the highest level of playing within their potential. I believe in challenging and encouraging students to stretch their comfort zones and to discover their potential for excellence.
-
Succeed
As a mentor, I believe in meeting students where they are and helping them get to where they need and want to be. I believe in setting my students up for success by planning lessons and activities that address deficiencies in their playing while refining the talents they already have.
